Michelle Mortensen

Michelle Mortensen is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in financial management and auditing. Currently serving as VP, Controller & Finance Shared Services at Blue Shield of California since August 2017, Michelle has previously held roles such as Sr Director, Assistant Controller. Prior to Blue Shield of California, Michelle worked at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu from July 2014 to October 2016 as a Director, leading financial statement audits under International Financial Reporting Standards. Michelle's expertise also includes a tenure as Interim Director of General Accounting at John Muir Health and over a decade at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where responsibilities encompassed leading audits for healthcare and not-for-profit entities. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Sonoma State University.
