Fred Smithson

Fred Smithson has been involved in the capital markets advisory business for over twenty- five years. He has worked with a diverse group of clients from large multinational companies to small business entrepreneurs helping with creditor negotiations, leasing capital equipment, raising capital, and mitigating financial risks. Most recently he was involved in taking an activist role with small business in helping in the financing and managing of a municipal tax lien portfolio. Previously he was a CFO of a $50 million hedge fund. Fred started his career at JP Morgan spending fourteen years as an investment banker in capital markets specializing in advising on bond issuance and financial risk management utilizing interest and currency swaps. After leaving JP Morgan, he worked for BNP Paribas in a similar capacity. Fred received his MBA in finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a BBA from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in accounting and computer science. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.
