Buck Garrett has a diverse work experience. Buck started their career in 2002 as a Corporate Director of Student Services and Academic Affairs at Corinthian Colleges, where they led the student issue prevention and resolution department. Buck published a Student Relations Manual and implemented trainings and best practices across campuses.
In 2006, Buck joined Kaplan Higher Education as a Corporate Vice President of Academic Affairs. Buck was responsible for guiding and supporting retention and placement efforts at seventy on-ground campuses across the US. Buck also implemented a standard retention management program.
From 2007 to 2010, Buck served as the Corporate Vice President of Academic Affairs at Heald College. Buck was responsible for retention, graduate placement, student relations, and faculty training and professional development across 12 campus locations in three states. Buck led a team of six corporate field directors and managers and contributed to significant growth in student enrollment and improvement in graduation and career placement rates.
In 2012, Buck became the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Eagle Gate College Group. Buck held the position until 2013 and was responsible for overseeing academic affairs.
Buck also has international work experience as a partner at Champion Education in China, where they had a permanent residence in the US.
In 2020, Buck joined the American Red Cross as a Disaster Recovery Specialist, and in 2022, they started working as a Crisis Specialist and Healthy Minds Alliance 360 at Centerstone.
Additionally, Buck has been involved in community service as a Community Volunteer at Blue Star Families since 2022.
Buck Garrett's education history includes a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Buck also obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Additionally, they hold a Master of Arts (MA) degree from the University of Mississippi, specializing in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration. Furthermore, they pursued studies in International Relations and Affairs at the University of Sussex.
In terms of certifications, Buck Garrett completed the Online CPR/AED and First Aid Combo Course from the American Red Cross in April 2020. Buck also completed the American Red Cross Certified Disaster Recovery/Disaster Action Team Training in March 2020. In January 2015, they became a Certified Training Professional through the Ruby Payne Understanding and Engaging Under Resourced Students program.

Blue Star Families (BSF) is a national, nonprofit network by and for military families from all ranks and services, including active duty, National Guard and reserves. Blue Star Families strengthens military families and connects America to the military through a robust array of morale, empowerment, education and employment programs. Founded by military spouses in 2009, the organization has engaged tens of thousands of volunteers and served more than 1.5 million military family members annually, including wounded and transitioning service members and their loved ones.
