Elizabeth (Liz) started their career in 1998 as an Information System Technician in the United States Navy, where they served for four years. In 2003, they joined the US Air Force Reserve as an Intelligence Analyst and remained in this role for seven years.

In 2004, Liz transitioned to civilian work and joined the USO of Illinois as a Volunteer Coordinator/Programs Manager. Elizabeth (Liz) Jones has a diverse education history. In 2002, they attended South Suburban College and earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Political Science and Government by 2003. Later in 2011, Liz enrolled at the College of Lake County and obtained a certification in Meeting and Event Planning.
