Hope Hack Petersen, MSW has a diverse work experience. Hope currently works as a Community Manager at Blue Star Families, where they are involved in a pilot program aimed at decreasing the suicide risk for veterans and their supporters through peer support and education. Prior to this, Hope served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army, where they managed records and provided support to over 1,000 students. Hope also worked as a Crisis Response Advocate at the Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Action Alliance, where they provided crisis intervention and safety planning to clients affected by violence. Additionally, they served as a Leadership Fellow at The Center for Junior Officers and as an Executive Director at the You Inspire Me Podcast. Early in their career, Hope was a Cadet at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where they oversaw initiatives related to the education of sexual assault and harassment within the Corps of Cadets.
Hope Hack Petersen, MSW, has a diverse education history. Hope began their academic journey at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from 2016 to 2020. Following this, they pursued further education at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Master's degree in Social Work from 2020 to 2022. During their time at Virginia Commonwealth University, they also completed a Graduate Certificate in Gender Violence Intervention from 2021 to 2022.
In addition to their formal education, Hope Hack Petersen has obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional skills. Hope completed the "Project Planning: Putting It All Together" certification from Coursera in June 2023, followed by the "Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project" certification in April 2023. Hope also acquired the "Foundations of Project Management" certification in March 2023 and the "Business Writing" certification in January 2023, all from Coursera.
