Vice President, Content And Campaigns at Blue State

Liz Langton has a diverse range of work experience. Liz has held various roles at Blue State, starting as a Senior Strategist from October 2016 to January 2020. Liz then became the Deputy Director, Content & Campaigns in Washington, DC from January 2020 to July 2021, followed by the Director, Content & Campaigns from July 2021 to January 2023. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President, Content and Campaigns at Blue State starting from January 2023.

Before their time at Blue State, Liz Langton worked at the Natural Resources Defense Council as the Director of Digital Engagement from March 2013 to May 2016. In this role, their responsibilities included managing and executing online engagement campaigns and leading a campaign to deliver public comments to the EPA on carbon pollution standards.

Prior to that, Liz Langton worked at Common Cause as the Digital Strategies Manager from April 2010 to February 2013. In this position, they developed strategies for online ad, email, and website campaigns, and organized online grassroots strategies against the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

Earlier in their career, Liz Langton worked as a Freelance Multimedia Producer in Washington, DC from January 2007 to March 2010, where they wrote, edited, and voiced award-winning radio pieces and created online video and multimedia content. Liz also worked as a Multimedia Fellow at Washington Post / Newsweek Interactive from August 2008 to January 2009, and as a Multimedia Intern at The Seattle Times from May 2008 to August 2008.

Liz Langton also has experience in web editing as a Web Editor at KOMU-TV from May 2007 to May 2008. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant Language Teacher as part of the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program from August 2004 to August 2006.

Liz Langton started their career as a Newsroom Intern at WAMU 88.5 from May 2003 to October 2003, where they conducted interviews and provided updates on power and water conditions during Hurricane Isabel. Liz also worked as an intern at Ryland Fisher Communications from October 2002 to December 2002, where they developed media campaigns and organized press events for national organizations.

Liz Langton began their education at American University from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Print Journalism and Graphic Design. Following this, they pursued a Masters degree in Convergence Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, completing their studies from 2007 to 2008.
