Shivam Shahi

Shivam Shahi has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where they conducted research on rock testing. In 2011, they continued their research at the Indian Institute of Science and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, focusing on the shear strength of jointed rocks and the effect of various factors on rock strength.

In 2012, Shivam joined the University of Alberta as a Research Engineer, working on studying the effect of temperature on crude oil properties in pipeline transportation. Shivam later took on the role of Vice-President (Academics) at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the same university.

From 2013 to 2014, Shivam held multiple roles at the University of Alberta, including Vice President (Sponsorship & External Communication) and Research Assistant, where they significantly contributed to improving the efficiency of empirical models for predicting solid transportation in pipeline and drilling operations.

In 2015, Shivam worked as VP Operations at Bite Club, before co-founding Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters in 2016, where they currently serve as a Co-Founder. Overall, Shivam Shahi has gained expertise in research, engineering, operations, and entrepreneurship throughout their work experience.

Shivam Shahi completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, where they graduated as a Gold Medalist in 2012. Shivam then pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta, graduating in 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Shivam also obtained various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Shivam received a certification in CMG (Reservoir Simulation Software) from Computer Modelling Group Ltd. Shivam also obtained certifications in Engineering and Code Essentials from the International Pressure Equipment Integrity Association, Lean Management Certification from ExpertRating Solutions, Lean Six Sigma methodology from KPMG, and Project Management Certification from ExpertRating Solutions. Furthermore, Shivam underwent six weeks of training on ICEM CFD and FLUENT software at the Centre for Computational Technologies (CCTech).
