Richard Winegar

Rick Winegar is the Lead Operating Partner at Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC. The Blue Wolf Capital Funds are a family of private equity funds focused on transformational investments in middle market companies.

Mr. Winegar has over 30 years of diverse experience across various industries including oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and industrial equipment; as a senior executive, an advisor and a private equity operating partner.

Mr. Winegar joined Blue Wolf in 2012, and he leads Blue Wolf’s Operating Partner program and external resource network. Since joining Blue Wolf, he has served as the interim COO of Pearl Technologies, ModernMD Urgent Care and National Home Health Care. Mr. Winegar oversees operational due diligence, portfolio company onboarding and transformation initiatives. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Edge Industrial Technologies, a Blue Wolf portfolio company. Mr. Winegar is the architect and Committee Chair of Blue Wolf’s Safety, Health and Environmental program, and a founding member of Blue Wolf’s ESG program.

From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Winegar worked at Capgemini Consulting and served corporate and private equity clients in vaccine manufacturing, pulp and paper, Department of Defense, and capital equipment manufacturing. During this period, Mr. Winegar began his collaboration with Blue Wolf, serving as Lead Engagement Partner for transformation initiatives at Finch Paper Company LLC and Pearl Technologies, Inc., and serving as interim COO at Channel Technologies Group LLC.

Previously, Mr. Winegar served as a Principal at Tunnell Consulting, a leading operations and compliance consultancy serving Fortune 100 clients in life sciences. Between 2001 and 2010, he led transformation engagements across global networks for clients including Pfizer, Roche, and Watson Pharmaceuticals. Notably, from late 2005 to early 2007, Mr. Winegar led the critical expansion of Roche Pharmaceutical’s global Tamiflu supply chain in response to the threat of an avian flu pandemic. Mr. Winegar led a global team to successfully expand Tamiflu’s end to end supply chain capacity by 400% in 14 months; an effort that earned appreciation from national governments and the World Health Organization.

From 1990 to 2000, Mr. Winegar held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility at American Cyanamid, a $2 billion global agriculture and specialty chemicals producer. He began his career at Cyanamid leading unionized shop floor operations, and progressed rapidly through leadership roles in plant operations, contract manufacturing management, Divisional Head of Quality, and finally Director of Latin American Manufacturing.

Mr. Winegar began his career at Chevron USA as a Design and Construction Engineer overseeing the design, contracting, and installation of offshore oil and gas production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.

Mr. Winegar holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
