Carlos Marti-Figueroa

Carlos Marti-Figueroa is a highly experienced scientist specializing in cellular process development, currently serving as Scientist 2 at bluebird bio since February 2021, following a progression from Scientist 1 within the same team. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from January 2013 to February 2021, where Carlos held the positions of Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on tissue engineering of 3D developmental cerebral tissues derived from human pluripotent stem cells using hydrogels with internal micro-architectures. Carlos also completed a Chemical Engineering internship at Merck in 2010. Educational credentials include a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering obtained from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020 and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez in 2012.
