Andrew Kan

Andrew Kan has a diverse work experience in the technology industry, with a focus on software development and engineering. Andrew currently works at Bluecrew as a Software Development Manager, starting in September 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Bluecrew from July 2021 to September 2022.

Before joining Bluecrew, Andrew worked at Starbucks as a Senior Software Engineer from November 2020 to July 2021. During their time at Starbucks, they had various roles, including Software Engineer II from June 2019 to November 2020 and Software Engineer I from August 2018 to June 2019. Andrew contributed to projects such as overhauling server provisioning processes, designing approval request systems, and acting as the China Liaison Lead.

Prior to their experience at Starbucks, Andrew worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington Information School from September 2017 to June 2018. Andrew led sections and provided assistance to students in Data Cleaning and Visualization in R.

Andrew also held leadership roles outside of their tech career. Andrew was the President of the Chinese Student Association at the University of Washington from June 2017 to June 2018. In this role, they led a registered student organization and organized events such as Asian Identity Night and Lunar New Year Gala.

Additionally, Andrew gained early work experience as a Software Intern at Starbucks in 2017. Andrew developed an API and participated in a hackathon to improve the tipping experience for customers using the Starbucks app.

Earlier in their career, Andrew had internships at REI as a Software Engineering Intern in 2016 and worked as a Sales Associate at UNIQLO in 2015.
