Waqas Munir, FRM has a diverse range of work experience in the finance industry. Waqas has held various roles in different companies over the years. Waqas started their career as a Senior Financial Analyst at Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) in 2008, where they performed fundamental credit analysis and prepared rating reports. Waqas then joined Askari Bank as a Senior Risk Analyst, where they developed a comprehensive risk registry and led the development of risk pricing and limits.

In 2012, Waqas Munir joined JCR-VIS Credit Rating Company Ltd. as a Senior Manager and a voting member of the Rating Committee. In this role, they led credit rating assignments, conducted on-site due diligence meetings, and advised clients on process improvements. Waqas stayed with the company until 2018.

Prior to their current role, Waqas Munir was a Non-Resident Research Scholar at the Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center). Waqas led policy-oriented research on financial stability, human well-being, and environmental sustainability.
