Brian Renda

Brian Renda is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of biosecurity and biotechnology. Currently serving as Program Director for Project AIR at Blueprint Biosecurity since June 2025, Renda previously held various leadership roles at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., from August 2016 to June 2025, culminating as Director of Corporate Development, where responsibilities included leading complex acquisitions and coordinating comprehensive due diligence. Renda also contributed to the Biosecurity Innovation Team, focusing on emerging technologies and product development, and effectively managed key strategic partnerships. Renda's academic background includes a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin and a BS in Biology & Biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. A fellow in the Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Initiative at the Center for Health Security, Renda has also engaged in significant research and development roles throughout a diverse career in laboratory settings.
