John Wiedey

John Wiedey has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and software development. John is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Blues Wireless since July 2019. Before that, they served as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer at Desktop Metal from December 2016 to July 2019.

Prior to their role at Desktop Metal, John worked at Digital Lumens as a Principal Software Engineer. John was responsible for building the manufacturing test infrastructure from scratch using a Qt/C++ cross-platform application development environment. John collaborated with various teams and contract manufacturers to test and configure all DL lighting and control products.

Before Digital Lumens, John worked at Sonos as a Senior Software Engineer. John developed embedded Linux drivers and user-space code in C++ for manufacturing configuration and diagnostic functions on networked audio amplifier and handheld touchscreen controller products. John also tested various system components and performed browser-controlled tests through embedded web servers.

John's work experience also includes a role as a Principal Software Engineer at Hammerhead Networks, where they led a team and created firmware for a highly-channelized SONET line card. John extended the Cisco IOS operating system to support new hardware and implement new software features.

John was also a Senior Software Engineer at Giganet, where they wrote a Gigabit Ethernet driver for a PCI card. Furthermore, they worked as a Software Engineer at Prominet, where they created firmware for line cards of a Gigabit Ethernet switch/router.

John started their career at LANart as a Software Engineer and Product Manager. John wrote all software for LANart's best-selling product and negotiated software features for compatibility with products produced by Xyplex.
