Mathew Pond possesses extensive experience in financial leadership and commercial strategy, currently serving as Acting GM, Commercial, Australian Steel Products at BlueScope since April 2014. Initially appointed as VP Finance to address business challenges post-GFC, Mathew advanced to roles emphasizing governance, risk management, and sustainable operations, complementing responsibilities with strategic oversight of a 300-member finance team. Previous roles include Vice President Sourcing & Supply Chain at NS BlueScope Coated Products, Acting CFO at BlueScope ASEAN, and Acting Vice President Commercial at New Zealand Steel, showcasing proficiency in managing sizable budgets, implementing performance improvements, and guiding significant organizational changes across various business units and regions. Mathew holds an Honours Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Econometrics from Monash University.
