Declan Flanagan

Founder & CEO at Bluestar Energy Capital

Declan Flanagan is the Founder and CEO of Bluestar Energy Capital, a global renewable energy investment platform. Prior to this, they were the CEO of Lincoln Clean Energy, where they grew the company to become the largest non-utility wind developer in the US. Declan also served as the CEO of E.ON Climate & Renewables North America, where they played a key role in making the business one of the top owners of windpower in the US. Flanagan was also the CEO of Airtricity North America, which they established as a developer, owner, and operator of wind power projects. Declan'swork experience also includes their role as the Executive Vice President & CEO Onshore at Ørsted, leading the creation of the Onshore business unit and overseeing significant investments in wind, solar, and storage. Currently, Flanagan is also the CEO of Nova Clean Energy, the North American focused project development platform of Bluestar Energy Capital.

Declan Flanagan attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management from 2005 to 2007, where they earned an MBA with a field of study in Accounting & Finance. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1997, they studied at Ulster University, obtaining an M.Sc. in Environmental Management. Declan'sundergraduate education took place from 1992 to 1996 at the University of Galway, where they earned a B.Sc. in Environmental Science.
