Santiago Quijano

Santiago Quijano is an Interconnection & Engineer at BlueWave Solar. Santiago has also worked as a Part Time Engineer at BlueWave Solar, where they created a database of project features, categorized projects to allow easy mapping of future projects, and developed utility specific checklists on one-line diagrams and system design considerations. Santiago has also interned as a Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Intern at Mitsubishi Electric de Colombia Ltda, where they instructed machine operators on autonomous maintenance, analyzed operational cost by monitoring maintenance records, developed a cost reduction plan to save $7,000 annually in energy consumption, standardized time required for preventive maintenance, assisted with implementation of 5S workplace organization method to reduce waste and improve productivity, led a 4-person technician team to analyze six different types of machines, updated information of technical properties and standardized maintenance time, incorporated security guidance for six machines by identifying all possible dangers with a security expert, and created a preventive maintenance manual based on the needs of each machines in the company.

Santiago Quijano earned their Master of Science in Energy Systems from Northeastern University with a focus in renewable energy. Santiago also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad EAFIT.
