Zhaorui (Rachel) Liu

Computer Vision Software Developer at Bluewrist

Zhaorui (Rachel) Liu has a diverse work experience in software development and research. Zhaorui (Rachel) began their career in 2011 as a Software Developer at UT Quality, where they developed and enhanced software solutions for ultrasonic non destructive testing and inspection equipment. Zhaorui (Rachel) also implemented a fast scan conversion algorithm for displaying ultrasound sector images, developed a 3D ray tracing program, and designed an algorithm to calculate the delay laws for the beam steering and focusing of linear and matrix phased array. In 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Alberta, where they proposed an adaptive block-based video acquisition framework based on compressed sensing technique, and utilized a super-resolution algorithm to recover high quality images for a terahertz imaging system. In 2007, they worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Beihang University, where they implemented an image edge detection algorithm based on multi-scale analysis, and tested the support vector machine for image classification. Finally, in 2018, they began working as a Computer Vision Software Developer at Bluewrist Inc.

Zhaorui (Rachel) Liu's education history includes a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta (2008-2010), a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Automation Science from Beihang University (2004-2008), and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (2nd Degree) in Applied Mathematics from Beihang University (2005-2008). Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Digital Signal Processing (Coursera, December 2017), Algorithms on Graphs (Coursera, November 2016), Algorithms on Strings (Coursera, October 2016), Algorithmic Toolbox (Coursera, September 2016), Data Structures (Coursera, September 2016), and SQL (Stanford Online, July 2016).
