Karen Maritz

Karen Maritz is a data science professional with extensive experience in risk and analytics, currently serving as the Head of Data Science at BluNOVA since July 2023. Previously, Karen held various roles at Truworths, culminating in the position of Divisional Manager: Risk & Analytics, where responsibilities included the development of predictive models for the credit lifecycle. Karen has also contributed as an external examiner for retail credit risk courses at North-West University, ensuring the quality of postgraduate education in credit scoring. Prior experience includes key roles in analytics at Real People, Xpert Decision System, and TransUnion, where Karen focused on developing customized analytical solutions and scorecards. Karen holds a M.Sc in Business Mathematics and Informatics, as well as a B.Sc in the same field, both achieved with Cum Laude honors from North-West University.
