Merja Pukari

Merja Pukari has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Merja is currently working as the COO at Leadcold since January 2023. Before that, they held positions at Vattenfall, where they served as a Nuclear Advisor from June 2021 to January 2023 and as a Project Manager from January 2019 to June 2021. Merja also worked as a Director at the Swedish Centre for Nuclear Technology (SKC) from January 2020 to January 2023. Prior to these roles, they worked at Studsvik Nuclear AB as a Project Manager from January 2014 to January 2019. Merja's earlier experiences include roles as a Research Associate and Doctoral Student at KTH, where they focused on developing academic courses and conducting research in the field of nuclear fuel systems. Merja also worked briefly as a Trainee at Eesti Energia AS and ABB Minerals and Mining Business Unit. Merja started their career as an Electrical Engineer at Elkon Elekter from June 2003 to August 2005.

Merja Pukari has a diverse education history. Merja obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from TalTech - Tallinn University of Technology in 2003-2007. Merja then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Nuclear Energy Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2007-2009. After that, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Reactor Physics from the same institute in 2009-2013. In 2005-2006, they participated in an exchange semester in a M.Sc. program called Sustainable Energy Planning and Management at Aalborg University. In 2016-2017, they further expanded their knowledge by earning a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from Estonian Business School. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the PRINCE2 Learning certification from LinkedIn in 2019 and also completed the BIM Foundations certification from the same platform.
