Bassey Ebenso is an Associate Professor in International Health at the University of Leeds, where they direct the Intercalated BSc International Health Programme. They have over 30 years of experience in global health, including significant roles in tuberculosis and leprosy control in Nigeria and Niger Republic, and have conducted research across numerous countries. Bassey completed a PhD focused on the sociocultural, political, and economic aspects of leprosy-related stigma in Western Nigeria, and their research interests encompass health systems strengthening, digital health, and community engagement in healthcare. Currently, they also serve as a Work Package Lead for URBANE_Project and hold editorial positions with PLOS ONE and BMC Health Services Research.
