Hans Aerts

Hans Aerts has extensive work experience in the roofing and waterproofing industry. Hans is currently the Director of Mod. Bitumen Technology at BMI Group. Prior to that, they owned and served as a Senior Business Consultant at HAConsulting BV. Hans also worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Neptune Coatings Corporation. Before that, Hans held various roles at Derbigum, including R&D Director, Director of Production Site Synthetics VAEPlan Germany, and R&D Manager. Hans also worked as a Post-doc at K.U. Leuven.

Hans Aerts has a diverse education history. Hans obtained a PhD in Oleochemistry, Chemistry, and Catalysis from KU Leuven in 2006. Prior to that, they completed their Engineering degree in Chemistry from KU Leuven in 2001. In 2013, they pursued further education at Vlerick Business School, completing an Executive Master Class in Innovation and Entrepreneurship with a focus on R&D Management. Hans also studied Italian at Centrum voor levende talen from 2004 to 2013, and Spanish at KU Leuven in 2010. Additionally, they obtained a Safety Advisor Dangerous Goods Transport certification from Dangerous Goods Training and Consultancy in 2008. Recently, in 2021, they participated in a Digital Transformation program at Vlerick Business School and received a Certificate of Participation.
