Jan Peirs

Jan Peirs has extensive experience in aerospace engineering, currently serving as a Senior Design and R&D Engineer at BMT Aerospace International since February 2012, focusing on projects across Belgium, the USA, and Romania. Previous experiences include a role as an R&D Engineer, where Jan developed designs for sector gears and pinions for airplane slat actuation, performed structural stress calculations, and conducted research on aerospace gear applications and tribology. Prior to this, Jan was a Doctoral researcher at Ghent University from August 2007 to January 2012, specializing in the dynamic behavior of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V. Jan holds a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Construction from Ghent University.
