Ian Tyler

Ian joined BMT as Non Executive Chair of the Board and the Nominations Committee in May 2023.

His senior executive career was with Balfour Beatty plc which he joined as Finance Director in 1996 and served as Chief Executive from 2005 to 2013.

Amongst other Board roles, he has served as Non-executive chairman of Vistry plc (formerly Bovis Homes Group), Cairn Energy plc, Amey plc and AWE Management plc and was a non executive director of BAE Systems plc.

In addition to his role at BMT, he is currently Senior Independent Director at Anglo American PLC and at Synthomer PLC and is the Independent Chair of Affinity Water Limited, a regulated water company.

Ian is an accountant by profession and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
