Stephan Cohnen

Stephan Cohnen serves as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at BMW Bank GmbH since January 2024, leading one of Germany's prominent automotive banks with a presence in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Prior to this role, Stephan held multiple key positions at BMW Financial Services, including Head of Market Liaison, Head of Strategy Execution and Performance Management, and Head of Operational Governance for the EMEA region, focusing on aligning market strategies and operational efficiency. Experience also includes serving as COO of BMW Financial Services Belgium and roles in corporate audit and project management within the BMW Group, alongside a background in IT strategy consulting and management at BCG Platinion and Accenture. Stephan holds a Maitrise in Economics/Management from Université de Namur and has achieved certification as a CIA Certified Internal Auditor. Further educational experiences include leadership training at the University of Oxford and studies in Telecommunication Law/eBusiness at the University of Oslo.
