BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt
Dr. Eduardo Noboa is an accomplished strategic sustainability advisor currently serving at the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, focusing on climate action and sustainable finance through the RISE Cities Program. With extensive academic experience as an associate professor in climate and energy policy at Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar Ecuador, Dr. Noboa has also held significant advisory roles, including at the University of Hamburg and as a lead consultant for various organizations such as the World Future Council and GFA Consulting Group GmbH. Notable past positions include senior researcher roles addressing deep decarbonization pathways and sustainability transition management, as well as serving as an expert member for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNFCCC. Dr. Noboa co-founded several organizations dedicated to renewable energy, waste management, and climate change solutions, and held key governmental roles in Ecuador related to climate and energy transition. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Systemic Transformations to Sustainable Futures and multiple master’s degrees in sustainable resource management and energy business management.
