Gareth Governey

Gareth Governey began their career at KPMG as a Trainee from 2000 to 2004. Gareth then joined AIB Capital Markets as a Senior Manager from May 2005 to July 2011, managing a loan book of over £600m. From August 2011 to March 2017, Gareth worked at HSBC in various roles, including Director and Head of Structured Banking (Ireland), before becoming the Head of Global Banking (Ireland) in 2017. In November 2022, Gareth joined BNRG as the Chief Financial Officer.

Gareth Governey completed their secondary education at Blackrock College from 1984 to 1996. Gareth then attended Trinity College Dublin from 1996 to 2000. Gareth continued their education at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, obtaining their ACA qualification from 2000 to 2004. In 2012 and 2013, they pursued a Diploma in Corporate Finance from the same institute. Gareth also participated in the International Oil & Gas Summer School in London in 2015.
