Joe Bernik

Joe Bernik has extensive experience in cyber security, currently serving as Cyber Security Exec - Strategy and Operations at BNY since May 2024, focusing on protecting global financial infrastructure. Prior roles include Cyber Security Executive at Bank of America, where leadership spanned institutional banking businesses, and CTO for Intel Security - Intel/McAfee, overseeing strategy. Joe has also contributed as an advisory board member for Cyware Labs and Cylance Inc., and fulfilled strategic roles at Promontory Financial Group and BNY Mellon, where innovative cyber assessment methodologies were developed. Additional positions include CISO at Fifth Third Bank and ABN AMRO, as well as SVP at Royal Bank of Scotland, emphasizing operational risk management and compliance. Joe holds a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Computer Science from the University of Mary Washington and has pursued further studies in Business Administration at Baruch College and NYU.
