Josiah Heidt is an experienced legal professional currently serving as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs and Senior Legal Counsel for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia since September 2019. Prior to this role, Heidt was an Assistant Attorney General at the State of Georgia Office of the Attorney General from December 2015 to September 2019. Additional experience includes positions as an Associate at Baker & Hostetler LLP in the Health Care group, and at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, along with a role as Judicial Law Clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Heidt also contributed as an Open Government Fellow for the Cornell e-Rulemaking Initiative at Cornell University. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy from Emory University.
