Director Of Special Events at Boar's Head Resort

Kevin Thurman has a diverse work experience in various roles related to marketing, promotions, and event management. Kevin started their career as a Sports Staff member at WCRD 91.3 FM radio station while studying at Ball State University. Kevin then worked as a Sports Intern at WHIO-TV Channel 7, where they filmed, edited, and produced sports segments. Kevin also gained experience as a Graduate Assistant at Ball State Athletics, focusing on student initiatives and social media.

Later, they joined Florida Gulf Coast University as the Athletics Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, responsible for creating and executing marketing plans for 15 Division 1 athletics teams. Kevin also oversaw in-game promotions and fan environment.

Kevin then moved to the University of Virginia, where they held multiple roles, including Athletics Marketing Coordinator and Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing, Social Media Strategist. In these positions, they managed marketing and in-event presentation for various sports, led social media strategies, and coordinated with media relations and student workers. Kevin eventually became the Director of Athletics Marketing and Social Media, overseeing the social media strategy and execution for Virginia Athletics.

Kevin'smost recent position is as the Director of Special Events at Boar's Head Resort, where they lead the planning and execution of all special events, including the successful Winter Wander Trail of Lights.

Kevin Thurman earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Telecommunications and Journalism from Ball State University from 2009 to 2013. Later, from 2013 to 2015, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Sport Administration at the same university.
