Tony Shaffer

Tony Shaffer, MBA, currently serves as the Global Head of Investor Relations and Communications at Boart Longyear, a position held since 2021, where responsibilities include leading buy and sell-side engagement and managing an annual budget of $700k. Prior to this, Tony held various leadership roles at Rio Tinto from 2008 to 2019, including Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for Turquoise Hill Resources, where Tony developed a global team, managed significant project teams, and oversaw media relations. Tony's earlier experience includes senior positions at Finsbury, Avado Brands, and Nasdaq, with extensive expertise in strategic communications, investor relations, media management, and corporate engagement. Tony holds an MBA in Finance from Wake Forest University and a BS in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Mary Washington.
