Vice President of Sales at Boathouse Sports

Matt Steele began their career in 1999 as a Civil Engineering Co-Op at Prime Engineering Inc. where they were responsible for the development of site plans and drawings, as well as working with civil engineers to develop project budget plans and customer change proposals. In 2000, they joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association as an Assistant Marketing Manager, assisting in the development of marketing programs for football, basketball and baseball, as well as 14 other sports. In 2003, they joined Boathouse Sports as Vice President of Sales, where they managed an inside and outside sales force of 20+ individuals. Matt implemented a new team sales process including the integration of a CRM system, leading to 5%+ sales growth after consecutive years of declining team sales. Matt also integrated a new online e-commerce platform into the sales process to increase team store sales 25%+ for two consecutive years. Matt was also responsible for initial and ongoing training and accountability of the salesforce, as well as implementing incentives or other effective sales goal programs to drive sales goals pursuant to company goals. Matt also served as National Sales Manager, participating in the recruitment of sales personnel, and providing initial and ongoing training of the sales force. Lastly, they served as Team Sales Consultant, responsible for maintenance and development of the Southeast District (GA, AL, TN and SC). Matt increased the initial account base of $300K to $1.3 million, and was also responsible for increasing account penetration to the company's TOP 30 key accounts in the territory by 15%+.

Matt Steele obtained a Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Marketing Management, General from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business between 1998 and 2003. In 2018, they obtained a certification in HubSpot Sales Software from HubSpot. In 2020, they obtained a certification in HubSpot from the HubSpot Academy.
