C. Ryan McVinney has a diverse and extensive work experience in the media and content production industry. C. Ryan began their career as the Director of Operations and Co-Founder at The Music Gym in 2006. From there, they worked as an Interactive Marketing Engineer at IF Marketing & Advertising and as a Television Producer at Channel Austin. In 2009, they became the Director of Digital Media at Site Scientist before joining Reindeer as a Senior Media Producer, where they managed digital content for Gwyneth Paltrow's "Goop.com" and Patrón Tequila.

In 2012, McVinney started working as a freelance video producer, editor, and director for clients such as Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and PBS. C. Ryan also worked as a Video Producer, Videographer, and Editor at Road Scholar during this time, producing educational videos around the world.

After completing high school, McVinney pursued their passion for music and attended Berklee College of Music in 1998, earning a certificate in music performance. Following this, they decided to further their education in the field of filmmaking and media production. From 2001 to 2004, they attended The New England Institute of Art and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Production, specializing in film and media.

In 1999, McVinney briefly attended Harvard University to study philosophy, although no degree was obtained. Later, in 2010, they enhanced their skills in organizational leadership and development by obtaining an HBDI certification from the Herrmann International Institute.
