Erin Sweeney

Vice President, Forensic Operations at Bode Technology

Erin Sweeney has extensive experience in the forensic field. Erin started their career at Bode Cellmark Forensics in 2005 as a DNA Analyst and later moved up to the position of Manager of DNA Databanking. In 2012, they were promoted to Director of Human Identification and Databasing. In 2017, Erin joined Bode Technology as Laboratory Director, where they provided leadership to various forensic operations departments. In May 2019, they were promoted to Vice President of Forensic Operations at Bode Technology. Erin'sresponsibilities have included managing casework, databasing, human identification, applied research, and core facility departments. Erin's expertise includes high-throughput DNA testing, missing person identification, DNA collection products, and immigration testing.

Erin Sweeney completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, with a concentration in Physiology and Neurobiology, from the University of Connecticut. This was from the year 2000 to 2004. Erin then pursued higher education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biotechnology, specializing in Biodefense, from 2011 to 2015. In addition, during the same period, they also obtained a Certificate in National Security Studies from The Johns Hopkins University.
