Grace Chen has a diverse range of work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Grace currently works as a Principal Engineer at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they have been employed since 2017. Prior to that, they were a Drug Product Manager at NGM Biopharmaceuticals from 2016 to 2017. Grace also worked as an Associate Scientist at Gilead Sciences from 2013 to 2016.
Before their time at Gilead Sciences, Grace worked as a Consultant at Henlius Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2012 to 2013, where they were responsible for designing and executing formulation development processes for early-stage protein products. Grace also provided expertise on drug product manufacturing processes.
Grace previously worked at Boehringer Ingelheim from 2011 to 2012 as a Senior Associate Scientist. In this role, they developed protein drug formulations, transferred drug product manufacturing processes, and implemented cleaning validation methods.
Prior to their time at Boehringer Ingelheim, Grace worked at Amgen from 2006 to 2011 as a Senior Associate Scientist. Here, they supported reformulation for a Phase III/Commercial antibody drug product, conducted process characterizations, and designed medical-in use compatibility studies.
Before Amgen, Grace worked at Abgenix from 2003 to 2006 as a Senior Process Development Associate, where they focused on process development.
Grace began their career at Genentech from 2001 to 2003 as a Supervisor, leading a team and managing commercial and late stage clinical product stability programs.
Grace also worked at Oread from 1999 to 2000 as a Scientist II, providing technical support and conducting studies for contracted clients. Prior to Oread, Grace worked at Scios from 1996 to 1999 as a Staff Analytical Associate.
Grace Chen has a Master's degree in Clinical Chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco. Grace also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Medical Technology from National Taiwan University.
