Sandy Sommer has a vast and diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Their most recent role is with Boehringer Ingelheim, where they serve as the Corporate SVP, Head of Therapeutic Area Cardio Metabolism & Respiratory. Prior to this, they were the SVP, Head of US Cardio Metabolic Franchise at the same company.

Before joining Boehringer Ingelheim, Sandy was the CEO and Co-Founder of Vygen, a strategic, science-driven Contract Commercial Organization providing a range of services to pharmaceutical companies. Sandy also served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Vernalis, a UK public company focused on commercializing pharmaceutical brands in the US.

Sandy's experience with AstraZeneca includes various roles such as Country President for AstraZeneca Colombia, Global Vice President for CNS and Infection, and Executive Director of the CNS Franchise. Sandy also held several leadership positions in sales, marketing, and brand management during their tenure with AstraZeneca.

Sandy Sommer has a BA degree from Dickinson College, which was obtained from 1987 to 1991. Later, Sandy pursued a Masters degree in International Business from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School from 1995 to 1997.
