Thomas Roth has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Thomas started their career as an officer at the German army, leading teams and units. After that, they worked as a research associate at Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen. Thomas then became an attorney at FRESHFIELDS BRUCKHAUS DERINGER LLP, where they advised and represented national and multinational companies on regulatory and administrative law matters. Later, they joined g.e.b.b. GmbH as an attorney before moving to Redeker Sellner Dahs, where they advised companies in the healthcare market on legal and regulatory issues. Thomas then joined Boehringer Ingelheim, where they held various leadership roles. Thomas led the legal team for the animal health business unit and the legal team for the German pharma business, focusing on market access. Most recently, they served as the Head of Global Data Protection and Chief Data Protection Officer at Boehringer Ingelheim, leading the preparation for the General Data Protection Regulation.
Thomas Roth earned a Doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) from Justus Liebig University Giessen. Prior to that, they completed their First state examination in law studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen. Thomas also obtained a First state examination in law studies from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main.
