Austin Hehir holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech, obtained in 2018. Experience includes internships at NASA Langley Research Center and Johnson Space Center, as well as a Quality Assurance Internship at K2M. From January to May 2017, Austin served as an Intramural Sports Referee at Virginia Tech. In July 2018, Austin joined Boeing as a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer, responsible for leading design changes to enhance production and reduce costs while ensuring effective communication with suppliers and customers. Currently, Austin works as a System Safety Engineer for the Fleet Risk Management Group at Boeing, starting in October 2023, and also serves as Deputy Focal for the Confident Travel Initiative.
