Chunlei Liu

Chunlei Liu, Ph.D., FAA Structures DER, is a seasoned aerospace engineering professional with extensive experience in airframe structures development. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at Boeing since January 2023, Chunlei Liu previously held leadership roles, including Director of Engineering at Xwing and Airframe Structures Manager at Supernal. With a background as a Structures Associate Technical Fellow at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, expertise encompasses metallic and composite airframe design, static strength analysis, and certification processes. Notable contributions include leading the 787 Composite Airframe Development program and engaging in finite element modeling and testing for various aircraft types during tenure at Structural Integrity Engineering. Chunlei Liu completed a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2006.
