Dan Gillian

VP & GM, Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers at Boeing

Dan Gillian is VP & GM, Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers at Boeing. He is responsible for a broad suite of sustainment and logistics solutions for Boeing and non-Boeing platforms, overseeing profit and loss, coordinated selling and program management for U.S. government customers. Gillian’s focus is providing superior program performance and the development and delivery of integrated solutions to increase readiness and meet customers’ mission requirements.

Prior to this role, Gillian was vice president of F/A-18 & EA-18G Programs for Defense, Space & Security (BDS), where he was responsible for customer satisfaction and the quality, cost and schedule performance of every facet of the F/A-18 family of strike fighters and electronic attack aircraft. He led all activities associated with program development, production and support for the F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft systems. Previous aircraft program management experience includes time as the P-8 Poseidon program manager for production programs. He led the acquisition, strategic planning and execution of the P-8A production program for the U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Air Force.

Before leading the F/A-18 and EA-18G programs, Gillian was the director of International Supplier Management for BDS, where he managed the international supply chain to support strategic growth and affordability objectives. Earlier in his career, Gillian served as the director of Enterprise Sourcing for Boeing in India. During that assignment, Gillian was responsible for developing suppliers in India, aligning Boeing defense systems and Boeing Commercial Airplanes tactics with Boeing’s strategy in India and managing the day-to-day execution of the company’s work at various India suppliers.

Gillian began his Boeing career as a manufacturing and systems engineer, followed by positions of increasing responsibility including supplier program manager for the F/A-18 program and Advanced Mission Computing product team leader. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
