Julia Som is a Biomedical Engineering graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University with hands-on experience in clinical rehabilitation engineering and human factors engineering. During a recent role as a Clinical Rehabilitation Engineering Trainee at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Julia designed assistive technologies and integrated eye-tracking systems to enhance communication for veterans. Previous experiences include interning at the US Army Health Clinic, working as a Research Assistant in eye movement analysis, and holding the position of Treasurer for the student organization Ram Rocketry at VCU. Currently, Julia serves as a Human Factors/Crew Systems Engineer at Boeing and has prior biotechnology internship experience at Athari Bio + Sciences.
