Mike Fleming

SVP, Development Programs & Customer Support at Boeing

Mike Fleming is senior vice president Development Programs and Customer Support. He works closely with airline customers and Boeing services teams to provide world-class 24/7 support to the global fleet.

Fleming also leads Commercial Derivative Programs, where he is responsible for program management of new derivative airplanes from initial offering through certification and entry into service. His team engages with global regulators to ensure each new product meets regulatory requirements and incorporates industry best practices.

Previously, Fleming was vice president of Commercial Services for Boeing Global Services, the largest commercial aircraft service contractor, with responsibility for profit and loss, coordinated selling, sales generation and marketing activities.

In 2014, Fleming was appointed vice president of Fleet Services for Commercial Airplanes, where he managed a broad range of products and services from Global Fleet Care managed services to freighter conversions, airplane upgrades and other maintenance services.

Between 2008 and 2016, Fleming oversaw the introduction and support of the 787 Dreamliner in-service fleet. As vice president for 787 Services and Support, he led the team responsible for providing all 787 flight and maintenance documentation, spares provisioning requirements, and flight and technical training materials for airline customers. Fleming also oversaw the development of new products and services designed to improve 787 airplane availability, ensure efficient airplane operations, reduce airline maintenance cost and improve dispatch reliability.

Fleming has held a wide variety of other technical and leadership roles across engineering, manufacturing, program management and sales since joining McDonnell Douglas in 1986 as a structural design engineer.

Fleming earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
