Philip Chiu

Philip Chiu is a Senior Staff Scientist at Spectrolab Inc., where they focus on the design and modeling of multijunction space cells and lead efforts to improve metrology. Philip has served as a Boeing Associate Technical Fellow, managing over $5 million in external government programs. Prior to their roles at Spectrolab and Boeing, Philip was a MOCVD Scientist at Spire, co-directing the development of a highly efficient solar cell, and worked as a Research Assistant at Northwestern University, specializing in magnetic semiconductor devices. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from Amherst College and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University.
