Bureau of Ocean Energy Management
Jim Galluzzo is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as a Staff Geologist at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management since January 2019, duties include analysis and interpretation of well and seismic data for regional play analysis and resource assessment. Prior roles include Senior Geologist at Petrobras America Inc., where responsibilities encompassed exploration portfolio management and geologic support, and Geologist positions at Nexen Petroleum, Minerals Management Service, and Texaco, where a range of geological studies, mapping, and prospect generation activities were conducted. Jim Galluzzo holds a Master’s degree in Geology from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Biology from the University of Rochester, with ongoing doctoral studies in Geology at Tulane University.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, a bureau in the U.S. Department of the Interior, is the Federal agency that manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources, and the development of offshore renewable energy on the outer continental shelf (OCS). The program is national in scope and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Regional offices are located in New Orleans, Louisiana.; Camarillo, California, northwest of Los Angeles; and Anchorage, Alaska.
