Travis Tempel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in risk analysis and engineering within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Senior Risk Analyst for Offshore Oil & Gas at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management since September 2014, Travis leads the development of risk mitigation policies for offshore operations under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. Previously, as the Chief of Engineering & Technical Review for Offshore Wind, oversight was provided to technical professionals and evaluations were conducted for renewable energy projects. Prior roles include Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy, where strategic development for biofuel infrastructure was implemented, and Senior Engineer at ExxonMobil, recognized with a Peer Excellence Award for contributions to professional development initiatives. Travis holds an MBA from Georgetown University and dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering (BS/MS) from the University of Maryland.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, a bureau in the U.S. Department of the Interior, is the Federal agency that manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources, and the development of offshore renewable energy on the outer continental shelf (OCS). The program is national in scope and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Regional offices are located in New Orleans, Louisiana.; Camarillo, California, northwest of Los Angeles; and Anchorage, Alaska.
