Michelle Payne

Michelle Payne is currently the Assistant Vice Provost, Academic, Leadership & Faculty Affairs at Boise State University. Michelle has dedicated their career to higher education and has previous experience working as a teaching assistant at both the University of New Hampshire and Florida State University.

Michelle has a passion for helping others reach their full potential and strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. Michelle is committed to promoting excellence in teaching and research and works tirelessly to support the academic success of Boise State University.

Michelle Payne received their Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Miami University. Michelle then went on to earn their Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Composition from Florida State University. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies from the University of New Hampshire.

Michelle Payne reports to John Buckwalter, Provost & VP, Academic Affairs. They are on a team with Mark Wheeler - Dean, Division of Extended Studies, Gonzalo Bruce - Assistant Vice Provost, Global Education, and Tracy Bicknell-Holmes - Dean, Albertsons Library.
