Abel Chavanga

Abel Chavanga is an experienced engineer currently working at bol since November 2023. Previously, Abel served as the Lead Java and Cloud Engineer at BMW Group South Africa from May 2021 to October 2023, specializing in the development of Java-based cloud microservices using technologies such as Java, Quarkus, OpenShift, and Azure. Prior roles include Solutions Architect and Lead Software Engineering Practice at Standard Bank Group, where competencies in Java EE and microservices development were demonstrated, as well as Application Development Manager at FNB South Africa overseeing software development teams. Abel's professional journey began with positions at Deloitte South Africa, FNB Bank, and other organizations, contributing to web application development and business intelligence solutions. Abel holds a BSc Honours in Information Systems from Midlands State University and has undertaken further education at Stellenbosch Business School.
