Jared Szechy

Jared Szechy has a diverse work experience in software engineering and technical roles. Jared is currently employed at Bold Penguin, where they have held various positions since 2018, including Principal Engineer, Staff Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. Jared also serves as a Board Member at Columbus Ruby Brigade, starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were involved with Ohio LinuxFest as the OLFI Chair since 2017. Jared's earlier work experience includes working as a Software Engineer at Brilligent Solutions, Inc. from 2011 to 2018, and as a Webmaster at Education Law Association from 2008 to 2011. Jared began their career as a Software/Electrical Engineer Co-op at Barco in 2008 and as a Lab Technician Co-op at YSI, a Xylem brand, in 2007.

Jared Szechy completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton, where they studied from 2005 to 2011. Jared also obtained additional certifications including CompTIA Security+ ce from CompTIA in May 2016, Cryptography I from Coursera in 2014, and Professional Scrum Master I from Scrum.org in 2013.
