Danielle Deavens has a wealth of experience in the media and communications industry. Danielle began their career in 2013 as a Moseley Center Student Staff Member at Elon University. In 2014, they were a Communications Intern at the Mental Health Foundation, writing blog posts for the organization's website. Danielle also worked as an Editorial Intern at Hartford Magazine/Life Publications that same year. In 2015, they interned at Pace Communications as an Editorial Intern for Four Seasons Magazine and at Essence Magazine as an American Society of Magazine Editors Intern. Danielle wrote entertainment and literature reviews for ESSENCE.com, wrote a book review and an entertainment roundup for the magazine, collaborated with colleagues to develop and present redesign and upgrade opportunities for ESSENCE Live, and produced a pilot segment for ESSENCE Live.
In 2016, Danielle worked as an Editorial Assistant for Food Network Magazine at Hearst Magazines. In 2017, they were an Associate Editor at Condé Nast, where they reported and wrote features on food and drink, travel, and popular culture for Brides.com, produced digital news content, and hosted Cocktail Hour, a food & drink-focused Instagram story series shared with 1 million+ followers. Danielle also wrote and edited feature stories for the bimonthly print magazine.
In 2018, Danielle was a 2018 Venture For America Fellow at Venture for America, where they received training and joined a startup in an emerging US city. Danielle also became the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Bold Xchange.
Danielle Deavens attended Elon University from 2012 to 2016, where they studied Print & Online Journalism and Professional Writing. Prior to that, they attended Farmington High School.
