Emily Weikum, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various scientific roles. Emily currently works at BOLDSCIENCE, where they started as an Associate Scientific Director in December 2020. Emily was promoted to Senior Medical Writer in August 2018 and then became a Lead Medical Writer in July 2019. Emily'sresponsibilities included project coordination, scientific leadership, and developing unbranded disease education tactics.

Before joining SciMentum, Dr. Weikum was a Graduate Student at Emory University School of Medicine from August 2012 to May 2017. Emily was part of the Biochemistry, Cell, and Developmental Biology Program (BCDB) during their Ph.D. training.

In their early career, Dr. Weikum worked as a Student Researcher at Kennesaw State University from January 2009 to July 2012. Emily'sresearch focused on the oxidative regulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase activated protein 2 (MK2) under the supervision of Dr. Carol Chrestensen.

Additionally, Dr. Weikum participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program at Emory University School of Medicine in 2011. This program provided their with valuable research experience, ethics training, and enhanced writing skills.

Emily Weikum, PhD, earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from Kennesaw State University, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their B.S. degree, they also obtained a Biomedical Certificate in Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Trials from Kennesaw State University in May 2012.

Following their undergraduate studies, Emily pursued further education at Emory University School of Medicine. There, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, completing their studies between 2012 and 2017.
