Shashi has extensive experience working at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI. Prior to Bolster, Shashi was security researcher at [Cisco](/org/cisco) where he developed machine learning algorithms to catch billions of spam messages. He holds a Masters in CS from the [Johns Hopkins University](/org/johns-hopkins-university) and Bachelors in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Ryan’s expertise spans GTM strategy, building high-performing teams, and delivering qualified pipeline to fuel hypergrowth. Prior to Bolster, Ryan was the VP of Global Demand Generation at Lacework and 1st hire in marketing where he helped build one of the fastest-growing security companies ever. Before Lacework, McCurdy was the Director of Global Demand Generation at cloud unicorn Druva, where he built their global Demand Gen engine.

Jenny Kwon is currently the VP of Finance & Operations at Bolster. Jenny has previously worked as a Senior Accountant at Sagent Management from June 2008 to December 2011 and as the Sr. Director of Finance at [Skybox Security](/org/skybox-security) from January 2012 to August 2021.

Jenny Kwon graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Umesh Padval is the current Director at Bolster. Umesh was previously with [Impinj](/org/impinj), and before that, they were with Bolster, Inc. Prior to that, they were with ShiftLeft, Inc. Umesh has also been with Baffle, Inc., [Clari](/org/clari), Sutter Health Bay Area, Thomvest, and Zūm.

Mark Weatherford is currently an advisor at Bolster. Before that, they were a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) from May 2020 to February 2021. Mark has also held positions at Cyber Mentor Fund, ClearSky, Idaho National Laboratory Strategic Advisory Committee, and Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG), where they served as VP & Global Information Security Strategist from February 2019 to April 2020. In addition, Weatherford has worked at the National Cybersecurity Center and [vArmour](/org/varmour), and was a Principal at The Chertoff Group from April 2013 to October 2015. There, they provided strategic consulting and advisory services with a focus on cybersecurity risk management practices for clients including Fortune 500 companies and technology start-ups. Mark has also served as CSO and SVP of Regulated Industries at [AlertEnterprise](/org/alertenterprise).

Mark Weatherford began their educational career by earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management. Mark then went on to earn a Master of Science in Technology and Information Security from the [Naval Postgraduate School](/org/naval-postgraduate-school).

Mark Weiner is currently an advisor at Bolster, a position they have held since December 2021. Prior to that, they were the Chief Marketing Officer at [Volterra](/org/volterra-sa) from January 2019 to December 2021. There, they were responsible for developing the marketing strategy from scratch, launching the company in 3.5 months, and enabling ongoing GTM. Mark also jointly created the market category of "distributed cloud", earning Gartner Cool Vendor and IDC Innovator within 9 months of launching. Mark was a core member of the $500M acquisition.

From January 2017 to December 2019, Weiner was the Chief Marketing Officer at [Balbix](/org/balbix). There, they served as an advisory board member to launch the company, then became CMO to build the marketing team and GTM strategy. Mark achieved Gartner Cool Vendor in the first 120 days and developed successful lead gen to meet pipeline goals.

Weiner has also held the positions of Chief Marketing Officer at [Bill Wilson Center](/org/bill-wilson-center), SVP Marketing & Product Management at Virtela (acquired by NTT), and Chief Marketing Officer at Centrify Corporation (acquired by [Thoma Bravo](/org/thoma-bravo)).

Paul Mockapetris was born on October 24, 1955, in Pasadena, California. Paul received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 1978, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from USC in 1982. Paul's dissertation was on the topic of internet protocols.

Mockapetris began their career as a researcher at Xerox PARC in 1982. Paul then joined the faculty of the [University of Southern California](/org/university-of-southern-california)'s Information Sciences Institute, where they were a professor from 1984 to 1994. In 1986, they and their colleagues at USC ISI developed the Domain Name System (DNS), which is the system that allows humans to use easy-to-remember domain names instead of IP addresses. DNS is now a fundamental part of the internet.

In 1994, Mockapetris left academia to join the commercial world, co-founding the first DNS-focused company, Nominum, Inc., where they served as chairman and chief scientist. Paul then went on to work at Acorn Technology, Farsight Security, Inc., and ThreatSTOP, Inc. as an advisor. Paul is currently an advisor at Bolster.

Mockapetris has also been involved with [ICANN](/org/internet-corporation-for-assigned-names-and-numbers-inc), the organization that manages DNS, serving on the Chair Identifier Technology Strategy Panel from 2013 to 2015. Paul is a visiting scholar at Universite Pierre et Marie Curie and has also served as an advisor to UrbanMedia, timetra, and LignUp.

Paul Mockapetris received a PhD in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine. Paul also holds a BS in Physics and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a HS in Latin, Latin, Latin, Physics, Chemistry from Boston Latin School.

Young-Sae has extensive experience helping companies define their go to market strategies and scaling marketing organizations to achieve breakout success.

Vann has over 15 years of deep security and sales leadership experience, where he will be responsible for driving revenues, expanding the company's global footprint and scaling the sales and channel teams.

Previously, Vann was the vice president of sales at [Vulcan Cyber](/org/vulcan-cyber), where he played a pivotal role in winning key accounts and established the company’s U.S. operations. Prior to [Vulcan Cyber](/org/vulcan-cyber), he held vice president of sales positions at Habitu8 and [Anomali](/org/anomali). During his four years at [Anomali](/org/anomali), Vann built the sales and business development programs from the ground up and established a go to market strategy that has been critical to the company’s ongoing success. He also held sales leadership positions at [Rapid7](/org/rapid7) and Axceler.

Dena Haritos Tsamitis is an advisor at Bolster and a previous company of Prime Tech Partners. RSA Conference was their first company where they worked as an information security risk analyst. Dena has also worked as the Director of Education and Training at RedMarlin, Inc, [The American College of Greece](/org/deree-the-american-college-of-greece), and the Executive Women's Forum on Information Security, Risk Management & Privacy. [Carnegie Mellon University](/org/carnegie-mellon-university) is where they completed their undergraduate and graduate studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
